Disclosed is a polymerizable compound selected from compounds of a general formula (1). Also disclosed is an optically anisotropic body formed from the polymerizable compound. The polymerizable compound can be added into a parent liquid crystal at a high addition concentration, so that the wavelength dispersity of birefringence is reduced, and meanwhile, the view angle of a display is effectively improved; and meanwhile, the non-uniformity of the film is improved.
