Efficient Transformation of Trithio- and Triseleno-orthoesters into Ketene Dithio- and Diseleno-acetals
Nsunda, K. M.,Hevesi, L.
, p. 1000 - 1001 (1985)
Sequential treatment of trithio- and triseleno-orthoesters with a Lewis acid followed by a base leads to ketene dithio- and diseleno-acetals in good yield; SnCl4 or TiCl4 and (i-Pr)2EtN or Et3N are the most efficient reagents.
Copper(I) bromide - dimethyl sulfide complex - An alternative to copper(I) triflate for removal of the thiophenoxide group
Cohen, Theodore,Shook, Craig,Thiruvazhi, Mohan
, p. 6041 - 6042 (1994)
Commercially available copper(I) bromide - dimethyl sulfide complex is comparable to the far more expensive copper(I) triflate in assisting the removal of the thiophenoxide group from certain substrates.
ELIMINATION OF THIOPHENOL FROM PHENYL ORTHOTHIOESTERS IN THE MASS SPECTROMETER AND NOVEL REARRANGEMENT OF KETENE THIOACETALS UPON ELECTRON IMPACT
El-Khawaga, Ahmed M.,El-Zohry, Maher F.
, p. 179 - 183 (2007/10/02)
The mass spectra of four selected phenyl orthothioesters (1-4) have been measured. The obtained spectra revealed the conversion of the compounds (1-4) into ketene thioacetals (5-8) via the elimination of thiophenol in the mass spectrometer. The thermal natu
