Cesium carbonate promoted aerobic oxidation of arylacetamides: an efficient access to N-substituted α-keto amides
Song, Bingrui,Wang, Siyuan,Sun, Caiyun,Deng, Hongmei,Xu, Bin
, p. 8982 - 8986 (2007)
A novel cesium carbonate promoted aerobic oxidation reaction to prepare N-substituted α-keto amides in the presence of catalytic amount of tetra-n-butylammonium bromide was described. This reaction provides a very simple and convenient route from easily a

Intermediates useful for synthesis of cephalosporins are disclosed, which intermediates are concerned with 1,2,3-thiadiazole-4-thiolates and the preparation of such thiolates.
Oxidation of Thioamides with Ceric Ammonium Nitrate: Transformation of Thiocarbonyl to Corresponding Oxygen Analogue
Dhar, Durga Nath,Bag, Amal Kumar
, p. 445 - 446 (2007/10/02)
Primary thioamide, viz. thiobenzamide (3) on oxidation with ceric ammonium nitrate gives 3,5-diphenyl-1,2,4-thiadiazole.Secondary and tertiary thioamides on similar oxidation yield the corresponding amides.
