The role of hydrolanes in a synthesis of some epoxyalkyl β-C- cellobiosides
Fairweather, Jon K.,Stick, Robert V.,Tilbrook, D. Matthew G.,Driguez, Hugues

An endoglucanase from Humicola insolens has been used to glycosylate a range of alkenyl β-D-C-glucopyranosides with β-lactosyl fluoride. The resulting trisaccharides have been subjected to the action of a commercial β-galactosidase to form alkenyl β-C-cellobiosides. Oxidation of these has given a range of epoxyalkyl β-C-cellobiosides, putative inhibitors of cellobiohydrolases.
Stereoselective Synthesis of 1- and 2-O-α-D-Cellotriosyl-3-deoxy-2(R)- and 2(S)-glycerols Related to Rhynchosporoside

, p. 2261 - 2272 (2007/10/02)
The stereoselective synthesis of 1- and 2-O-α-D-cellotriosyl-3-deoxy-2(R)- and 2(S)-glycerols, which determined the structure of rhynchosporoside produced by Rhynchosporium secalis, and their phytotoxicity toward the host plant (Hordeum vulgare) are described in detail.
