Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 204971-31-3 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,0,4,9,7 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 204971-31:
(8*2)+(7*0)+(6*4)+(5*9)+(4*7)+(3*1)+(2*3)+(1*1)=123
123 % 10 = 3
So 204971-31-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A mild and practical method for deprotection of aryl methyl/benzyl/allyl ethers with HPPh2andtBuOK

Pan, Wenjing,Li, Chenchen,Zhu, Haoyin,Li, Fangfang,Li, Tao,Zhao, Wanxiang

, p. 7633 - 7640 (2021/09/22)

A general method for the demethylation, debenzylation, and deallylation of aryl ethers using HPPh2andtBuOK is reported. The reaction features mild and metal-free reaction conditions, broad substrate scope, good functional group compatibility, and high chemical selectivity towards aryl ethers over aliphatic structures. Notably, this approach is competent to selectively deprotect the allyl or benzyl group, making it a general and practical method in organic synthesis.

Reductive Etherification of Aldehydes and Ketones with Alcohols and Triethylsilane Catalysed by Yb(OTf)3: an Efficient One-Pot Benzylation of Alcohols

Pelosi, Azzurra,Lanari, Daniela,Temperini, Andrea,Curini, Massimo,Rosati, Ornelio

supporting information, p. 4527 - 4539 (2019/08/26)

The one-pot synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical ethers from aldehydes and ketones can be conveniently performed using Yb(OTf)3 as catalyst and triethylsilane as reducing agent in presence of alcohols. This methodology leads to the synthesis of ether derivatives with good yields. Notably, this process resulted a useful tool to protect alcohols as benzyl ether derivatives using differently substituted benzaldehydes as protecting agents under mild conditions. A plausible mechanism was also proposed. (Figure presented.).

A deprotection procedure using SO3H silica gel to remove non-silyl protecting groups

Karaki, Fumika,Kuwada, Miki,Tajiri, Saki,Kanda, Misaki,Yanai, Mari,Kamimura, Mitsuhiro,Itoh, Kennosuke,Fujii, Hideaki

, p. 212 - 220 (2019/05/06)

Protecting groups are indispensable in organic synthesis and there is a great need for a variety of deprotection methods. Here, we investigated the scope of the application of a deprotection procedure using SO3H silica gel, which we have previously reported as a desilylation procedure. Under these conditions, -OMOM, -OSEM, -OTHP, and -OAc groups and dimethyl acetal were cleaved. Pivaloyloxy, benzyloxy and methoxy carbonyl groups remained intact and selective deprotection of TBS groups in the presence of other protecting groups was accomplished. We succeeded in cleaving an acetyl group on a secondary alcohol in a highly polar nortropine derivative. Our findings here provide another deprotection option and would be helpful in the synthesis of multifunctional compounds.

Mild debenzylation of aryl benzyl ether with BCl3 in the presence of pentamethylbenzene as a non-lewis-basic cation scavenger

Okano, Kentaro,Okuyama, Kei-Ichiro,Fukuyama, Tohru,Tokuyama, Hidetoshi

scheme or table, p. 1977 - 1980 (2009/04/07)

Scope and limitations of the debenzylation conditions for aryl benzyl ether, which was developed during our synthetic studies on yatakemycin, were investigated. The chemoselective debenzylation proceeds at low temperature with a combination of BCl3 and pentamethylbenzene as a cation scavenger in the presence of various functional groups.
