The synthesis and crystallographic characterization of the ferrocene bis(phosphonite) 6 as well as the corresponding Rh(I) complex 7 containing the sterically congested dibenzo[d.f] [1,3,2]dioxaphosphepin ring system is reported. The high yields of products obtained in three different transition-metal catalyzed reactions suggest that 6 is a robust ligand useful in variety of reactions.
