Synthesis of an inositol-containing trisaccharide related to insulin signal transduction
Jaworek, Christine H.,Calias, Pericles,Iacobucci, Sarah,D'Alarcao, Marc
, p. 667 - 670 (1999)
A synthesis of D-mannosyl-(α1-4)-D-glucosaminyl-(α1-6)-D-myo-inositol- 1:2-cyclic phosphate (1) from D-xylose, D-mannose, and D-glucal is reported. Compound 1 constitutes the terminal structure of the PI-PLC-released VSG membrane anchor of Trypanosomes and is structurally related to the inositol phosphate glycan implicated as an insulin second messenger in higher organisms.
Synthesis of inositol glycan cyclic phosphates
Jaworek, Christine H.,Iacobucci, Sarah,Calias, Pericles,D'Alarcao, Marc
, p. 375 - 391 (2007/10/03)
An efficient synthesis of tri-, tetra-, and pentasaccharide cyclic phosphates 1-5, structurally related to natural inositol phosphate glycans, is reported. The title compounds were assembled by PhSeOTf-promoted glycosylation of the known glucosamine precu
