Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2227-13-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,2,2 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2227-13:
(6*2)+(5*2)+(4*2)+(3*7)+(2*1)+(1*3)=56
56 % 10 = 6
So 2227-13-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of Cl2- to Cl4-diphenylsulfides and Cl1- to Cl3-dibenzothiophenes

Sielex, Klaus,Andersson, Jan T.

, p. 3529 - 3539 (2007/10/03)

The synthesis of eleven environmentally relevant mono-, di- and trichlorodibenzothiophenes (2) by photochemical ring-closure of polychlorodiphenylsulfides (1) is described. All monochlorodibenzothiophenes were additionally synthesized starting with a chlorothiophenol in a three-step reaction adapted from the synthesis of methyldibenzothiophenes.
