Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 24524-52-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,4,5,2 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 24524-52:
(7*2)+(6*4)+(5*5)+(4*2)+(3*4)+(2*5)+(1*2)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 24524-52-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Alkylidenecarbenes from 1-Diazo-1-alkenes: Their Electrophilicity and Stereochemistry of -Cycloaddition

Gilbert, John C.,Giamalva, David H.

, p. 4185 - 4188 (2007/10/02)

Determination of the ρ value for the -cycloaddition of the alkylidenecarbene derived from 1-diazo-2-methyl-1-propene shows that the carbene has an electrophilicity comparable to that of the species derived from α-elimination of the corresponding vinyl triflate.Measurements of ρ as a function of solvent indicate that the carbene is free of encumbrance with solvent molecules, at least in the sense that the latter are functioning as Lewis bases. The observed stereochemistry of the -cycloaddition is consistent with the alkylidenecarbene being produced in a singlet electronic state.
