Synthesis of organomagnesium β-diketonates and alkoxides
Gupta, Shamma,Sharma, Sangeeta,Narula, A. K.
, p. 1 - 4 (1993)
Phenyl- and butyl-magnesium β-diketonates, C(H)C(O)-R">*THF (where R = C6H5 or C4H9; R' and R" = C6H5 or CH3) have been made by the reaction of phenyl- or butyl-magnesium bromide with sodium β-diketonates and CuII β-diketonates.Phenyl- and butyl-magnesium alkoxides (where R"' = CH3, C2H5, i-C3H7, i-C4H9, t-C4H9) have been made by treatment of phenyl- or butyl-magnesium bromide with the appropriate sodium alkoxides.
A NON-ISOTHERMAL KINETIC STUDY OF THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF MAGNESIUM ALKOXIDES AND AMIDES
Ashby, E. C.,Willard, G. Fred
, p. 241 - 246 (2007/10/02)
The thermal decomposition of alkoxides and amides of magnesium have been studied by vacuum TGA under both isothermal and non-isothermal conditions. These compounds were found to follow a unimolecular decay law, which in integrated form is -ln(1-α)=kt, where α is the fraction of material reacted, and k is the Arrhenius rate constant. The rate-controlling process is random nucleation, one nucleus on each particle.Energies of activation calculated by isothermal and non-isothermal methods agree to within +/-20percent.
