The method comprises the following steps: by taking 2, 4-dichloro-3-fluoronitrobenzene as a raw material, firstly carrying out etherification to prepare 2-alkoxy-3-fluorine-4-chloronitrobenzene or 2-chlorine-3-fluorine-4-alkoxy nitrobenzene, then reducing into2-alkoxy-3-fluorine-4-chloraniline or 2-chlorine-3-fluorine-4-alkoxy aniline, and then carrying out diazo reduction reaction to remove amino, to prepare 2-fluorine-3-chlorobenzene ether, and performing one-step cracking to prepare 2-fluorine-3-chlorophenol. The method has the advantages that the total yield is 60%, the product purity is 98% or above, and the method is easy for industrial production.
