A 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid synthesis method

The invention relates to a method for synthesizing and preparing a herbicide 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxy benzoic acid (namely dicamba). The method comprises the following steps: (1) formylating 2,5-dichloroanisole, so as to obtain 2-methoxy-3,6-dichloroanisole; and (2) oxidizing 2-methoxy-3,6-dichloroanisole; and acidifying, filtrating and drying a reaction product, thus obtaining a product. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the product yield is high, high-pressure carboxylation reaction is not adopted, the problem in the existing production processes that the emission of waste gases, waste water and waste residues is high is solved, the environmental-friendly benefit is good, and the industrialization is easy, so that the method has a relatively good application value.
