Thorium Cubanes-Synthesis, Solid-State and Solution Structures, Thermolysis, and Chalcogen Exchange Reactions
Ringgold, Marissa,Rehe, David,Hrobárik, Peter,Kornienko, Anna Y.,Emge, Thomas J.,Brennan, John G.
, p. 7129 - 7141 (2018)
Thorium cubanes (py)8Th4(μ3-E′)4(μ2-EPh)4(ν-EPh)4 (E, E′ = S, Se) were prepared from ligand-based redox reactions of elemental E′ with Th(EPh)4. Products with all four
Mixture is better: enhanced electrochemical performance of phenyl selenosulfide in rechargeable lithium batteries
Guo, Wei,Bhargav, Amruth,Ackerson, Joseph D.,Cui, Yi,Ma, Ying,Fu, Yongzhu
, p. 8873 - 8876 (2018)
Phenyl selenosulfide (PhS-SePh) is synthesized by an exchange reaction between phenyl disulfide and diselenide. PhS-SePh possesses average values of lattice parameters, bond character, and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital as expected, but displays a higher discharge voltage plateau and much better cycling stability than the two precursors in rechargeable lithium batteries.
A novel synthesis of selenosulfides from diselenides by samarium diiodide
Guo,Zhang
, p. 374 - 375 (2007/10/03)
Diselenides were reduced by samarium diiodide in tetrahydrofuran (THF) to produce samarium selenolate. This selenolate anion reacted smoothly with sodium alkyl thiosulfates and phenylsulfenyl chloride to give selenosulfides in moderate to good yields.
On The Reactions of Benzeneseleninic Anhydride With Monosubstituted Hydrazones. Evidence for Radical Pathways.
Barton, Derek H. R.,Okano, Takashi,Parekh, Shyamal I.
, p. 1823 - 1836 (2007/10/02)
The known oxidation of mono-substituted hydrazones by benzeneseleninic anhydride has been studied using 77Se and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The intermediates in the reaction have been identified.Good evidence that certain steps in these reactions are radical in character has been secured.
