OPTIMIZATION OF THE ENZYMATIC SYNTHESIS OF AMINO ACID ESTERS. REACTION IN POLYPHASIC MEDIUM

, p. 269 - 274 (1983)
N-acetyl-L-Tyrosine Ethyl Esters (ATEE) was synthesized from N-acetyl-L-Tyrosine and ethanol, with immobilized chymotrypsin as catalyst. For this purpose, a biphasic liquid reaction mixture consisting of an organic chloroform phase and aqueous phase was used. This system allows the shift of the reaction equilibrium towards ATEE synthesis by achieving continuous ATEE extraction in the organic phase.Synthesis rates of up to 90percent were obtained by optimizing the reaction conditions and controlling the pH of aqueous phase.
Resolution of N-protected amino acid esters using whole cells of Candida parapsilosis ATCC 7330
Stella, Selvaraj,Chadha, Anju
experimental part, p. 457 - 460 (2010/06/21)
Whole cells of Candida parapsilosis ATCC 7330 were used for the resolution of N-acetyl amino acid esters. Excellent enantioselectivities (E = 40 to >500) were achieved for the resolution of N-protected protein and non-protein amino acid esters giving good yields (28-50%) and high enantiomeric excesses (up to >99%) for both enantiomers.

, (2008/06/13)
Cosmetic sunscreen products which contain a tyrosine derivative of the formula: STR1 in which R1 is H or CH3 --(CH2)x, with X being 1 to 20, and R2 is CH3 CO-- or CH3 --(CH2)y --CO, with Y being 1 to 20, provide a long lasting and dark, natural tan after a short exposure to sunlight. The sunscreen product may contain an activator which is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of adenosine-5'-tri-, di-, or monophosphoric acid and mixtures thereof with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydrogen phosphate.
