Metal-catalyzed [1,2]-alkyl shift in allenyl ketones: Synthesis of multisubstituted furans
Dudnik, Alexander S.,Gevorgyan, Vladimir
, p. 5195 - 5197 (2007)
(Chemical Equation Presented) Even fused furans can be prepared by cycloisomerization of substituted allenyl ketones. The cascade reaction involves a [1,2]-migration of alkyl or aryl groups in allenyl ketones as the key step. Facile reaction in the presence of cationic complexes, as well as migratory aptitude in the cycloisomerization of unsymmetrically substituted allenes, strongly supports an electrophilic mechanism for this transformation.

Indium tribromide catalysed the transfer hydrogenation from dihydroaromatic compounds, such as the commercially available γ-terpinene, to enones, which resulted in the cyclisation to trisubstituted furan derivatives. The reaction was initiated by a Michae

Paragraph 0003, (2022/01/10)
The invention provides a method for preparing a polysubstituted furan compound by taking alpha-chloroketone and methyl ketone or cyclic ketone as raw materials through one-step reaction under the action of slightly excessive tetraisopropyl titanate and a solvent-free condition. The method comprises the following steps: under the protection of inert gas, stirring and heating a reaction mixture of methyl ketone or cyclic ketone, alpha-chloroketone and p-toluenesulfonic acid, adding tetraisopropyl titanate for reaction, and separating and purifying the obtained reaction mixture after the reaction is finished to obtain the polysubstituted furan compound. The synthesis method provided by the invention has the advantages of easily available raw materials, low cost, simple operation and easy control, no solvent, good substrate universality and functional group compatibility, and is suitable for industrial mass production.

supporting information, p. 696 - 699 (2019/01/30)
A tandem synthetic route to a diverse array of cyclic compounds has been developed from Friedel-Crafts acylation of alkynes followed by the microwave irradiation of β-chlorovinyl ketone intermediates. The stereoisomeric β-chlorovinyl ketone intermediates smoothly underwent a thermal α-vinyl enolization and ring expansion to vinyl and carbocyclic furans as well as cyclopetene derivatives in good to excellent yields without the need for any catalysts.

supporting information, p. 6333 - 6337 (2017/08/10)
An Au(i)-catalyzed cyclization/1,2-rearrangement/aromatization cascade of 3-yne-1,2-diols has been successfully realized. This reaction not only provides a new and efficient strategy for the synthesis of substituted cycloalka[b]furan compounds as well as their derivatives, but might also facilitate related biological studies.
Synthetic method for cycloalkano[b]furan compound
-
Paragraph 0022; 0023, (2017/09/18)
The invention discloses a synthetic method for a cycloalkano[b]furan compound. The synthetic method has a general reaction formula as described in the specification. According to a technical scheme of the invention, the cycloalkano[b]furan compound is synthesized from polysubstituted 3-yne-1,2-diol under the action of a lewis acid catalyst through a heating one-pot method. The synthetic method provided by the invention has the following advantages: starting materials are simple to prepare; operation is convenient; except a final product, an immediate does not need separation and purification in a series of conversion processes; meanwhile, the amount of the lewis acid catalyst used in the method is extremely little; the input amounts of capital and labor can be reduced; and a rapid, simple and highly-efficient preparation method is provided for the cycloalkano[b]furan compound.

supporting information, p. 1111 - 1115 (2017/01/18)
A novel [3+2] cycloaddition between a variety of cyclic ketones and diverse olefins or alkynes can be effectively promoted by copper in combination with the tri-tert-butylphosphine [P(tBu)3] ligand. This protocol exhibits excellent selectivity and provides an exemplary set of fused heterocycles in good to excellent yields. Present strategy also represents an extremely simple and atom-economic way to construct substituted fused furans and naphthofurans from readily available starting materials under mild reaction conditions. The utility of the method is further demonstrated by the synthesis of chiral furans from (R)-(?)-carvone and (S)-(+)-carvone. A plausible mechanism involving the oxidative radical cyclization has been suggested based on experimental observations.

A Desulfonylative Approach in Oxidative Gold Catalysis: Regiospecific Access to Donor-Substituted Acyl Gold Carbenes
Chen, Hongyi,Zhang, Liming
, p. 11775 - 11779 (2015/10/05)
Donor-substituted acyl gold carbenes are challenging to access selectively by gold-promoted intermolecular oxidation of internal alkynes as the opposite regioisomers frequently predominate. By using alkynyl sulfones or sulfonates as substrates, the oxidative gold catalysis in the presence of substituted pyridine N-oxides offers regiospecific access to acyl/aryl, acyl/alkenyl, and acyl/alkoxy gold carbenes by in situ expulsion of sulfur dioxide. The intermediacies of these reactive species are established by their reactivities, including undergoing further oxidation by the same oxidant, cyclopropanation of styrenes, engaging in a [3+2] cycloaddition with α-methylstyrene, and conversion into dienones. Accept it: A desulfonylative approach was developed to regiospecifically access these underexplored acyl gold carbenes from either alkynyl aryl/alkenyl sulfones or alkynyl sulfonate substrates. The reactivities of these donor- and acceptor-substituted carbenes are examined.
