Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 33533-42-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,3,5,3 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 33533-42:
(7*3)+(6*3)+(5*5)+(4*3)+(3*3)+(2*4)+(1*2)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 33533-42-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Facile one-pot synthesis of diarylacetylenes from arylaldehydes: Via an addition-double elimination process

Chen, Jianyang,Zhang, Xuan,Wu, Jiajun,Wang, Rui,Lei, Chunlin,An, Yanan

, p. 4701 - 4705 (2021/06/11)

A practical one-pot protocol has been developed to synthesize diarylacetylenes from arylaldehydes by treatment with 1-(arylmethyl)benzotriazoles and LiN(SiMe3)2. The reaction proceeded through imine formation, Mannich-type addition and double elimination to deliver products in up to 99% yields with broad substrate scope. In addition, gram-scale synthesis of 1-bromo-4-(phenylethynyl)benzene has been demonstrated.

Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer: Transition-Metal-Free Selective Reduction of Chalcones and Alkynes Using Xanthate/Formic Acid

supporting information, p. 2650 - 2653 (2019/04/17)

Highly chemoselective reduction of α,β-unsaturated ketones to saturated ketones and stereoselective reduction of alkynes to (E)-alkenes has been developed under a transition-metal-free condition using a xanthate/formic acid mixture through proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET). Mechanistic experiments and DFT calculations support the possibility of a concerted proton electron-transfer (CPET) pathway. This Birch-type reduction demonstrates that a small nucleophilic organic molecule can be used as a single electron-transfer (SET) reducing agent with a proper proton source.

The CuFe2O4@SiO2@ZrO2/SO42-/Cu nanoparticles: An efficient magnetically recyclable multifunctional Lewis/Br?nsted acid nanocatalyst for the ligand- and Pd-free Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction in water

Nasseri, Mohammad Ali,Alavi, Seyyedeh Ameneh,Kazemnejadi, Milad,Allahresani, Ali

, p. 20749 - 20759 (2019/07/12)

Herein, the synthesis and application of copper-incorporated sulfated zirconium oxide supported on CuFe2O4 NPs (CuFe2O4@SiO2@ZrO2/SO42-/Cu NPs) as a novel Lewis/Br?nsted acid nanocatalyst were studied for the Sonogashira C-C cross-coupling reaction. The fabricated CuFe2O4@SiO2@ZrO2/SO42-/Cu catalyst exhibited efficient activity for a large variety of aryl iodides/bromides and, most importantly, aryl chlorides in water and in the presence of NaOH as a base in short reaction times. The catalyst was fully characterized by FTIR, TG-DTG, VSM, XRD, EDX, FE-SEM and TEM analyses. A synergetic effect could be considered to have arisen from the various Lewis acid and Br?nsted acid sites present in the catalyst. The efficient incorporation of copper into zirconia provided a robust highly stable hybrid, which prevented any metal leaching, whether from the magnetite moiety and/or Cu sites in the reaction mixture. Moreover, the catalyst was successfully recovered from the mixture by a simple external magnet and reused for at least 9 consecutive runs. Zero metal leaching, stability, consistency with a variety of substrates, fast performance, cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and preparation with accessible and cheap materials are some of the advantages and highlights of the current protocol.

Transition-Metal-Free Highly Chemoselective and Stereoselective Reduction with Se/DMF/H2O System

Li, Hong-Chen,An, Cui,Wu, Ge,Li, Guo-Xing,Huang, Xiao-Bo,Gao, Wen-Xia,Ding, Jin-Chang,Zhou, Yun-Bing,Liu, Miao-Chang,Wu, Hua-Yue

supporting information, p. 5573 - 5577 (2018/09/12)

A novel metal-free reduction system, in which H2Se (or HSe-) produced in situ from Se/DMF/H2O acts as the active reducing species, has been developed. By using water as an inexpensive, safe, and environmentally friendly surrogate as the hydrogen donor, this new reduction system incorporating Se/DMF/H2O displayed high selectivity and good activity in the reduction of α,β-unsaturated ketones and alkynes. Therefore, this reduction system has great potential to be a general and practical reduction methodology in organic transformation.

Toward Multiple Conductance Pathways with Heterocycle-Based Oligo(phenyleneethynylene) Derivatives

supporting information, p. 13818 - 13826 (2016/01/15)

In this paper, we have systematically studied how the replacement of a benzene ring by a heterocyclic compound in oligo(phenyleneethynylene) (OPE) derivatives affects the conductance of a molecular wire using the scanning tunneling microscope-based break junction technique. We describe for the first time how OPE derivatives with a central pyrimidine ring can efficiently link to the gold electrode by two pathways presenting two different conductance G values. We have demonstrated that this effect is associated with the presence of two efficient conductive pathways of different length: the conventional end-to-end configuration, and another with one of the electrodes linked directly to the central ring. This represents one of the few examples in which two defined conductive states can be set up in a single molecule without the aid of an external stimulus. Moreover, we have observed that the conductance through the full length of the heterocycle-based OPEs is basically unaffected by the presence of the heterocycle. All these results and the simplicity of the proposed molecules push forward the development of compounds with multiple conductance pathways, which would be a breakthrough in the field of molecular electronics.

Organocatalytic synthesis of alkynes

Zhang, Mengnan,Jia, Tiezheng,Wang, Carol Y.,Walsh, Patrick J.

supporting information, p. 10346 - 10350 (2015/09/01)

Carbon-carbon triple bonds of alkynes are ubiquitous. They serve as valuable starting materials that can be transformed into a vast array of diverse materials, with applications ranging from medicinal chemistry to electronic materials. The methods used to prepare alkynes involve stoichiometric reactions and the most popular install only a single carbon rather than uniting larger fragments. These methods are useful, but they are limited by harsh conditions or the need to prepare reagents. Introduced herein is the first catalytic method to prepare carbon-carbon triple bonds from precursors that do not contain such linkages. By coupling benzaldehyde and benzyl chloride derivatives under basic conditions with an organocatalyst, good yields of alkynes are obtained. The catalyst, a highly reactive sulfenate anion, is readily generated under the reaction conditions from air-stable precursors. This method represents an attractive organocatalytic alternative to well-established stoichiometric approaches to alkynes and to transition-metal-based alkyne functionalization methods in various applications.
