Compounds of Formula I and Formula II, pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, stereoisomers of any of the foregoing, or mixtures thereof are agonists of the APJ Receptor and have use in treating cardiovascular and other conditions. In catalytic reduction (5percent Pt-C, 1 atm H2) of 4-alkoxynitrobenzenes (R1O-C6H4-NO2) in alcohol(R2OH)-sulfuric acid solution at room temperature, the reduction was found to be accompanied by transetherification to afford R2O-C6H4-NH2.
