A one-step procedure is described for preparation of 3-amino-5-aminomethyl-4-methoxymethyl-2-methylpyridine by hydrogenation of 6-chloro-5-cyano-4-methoxymethyl-2-methyl-3-nitropyridine over palladium-containing anion exchanger AV-17-8.Under mild conditions (20-60 deg C, hydrogen pressure 98-103 kPa, alcoholic medium) the yield of the target product attains 99percent.The proposed catalyst considerably exceeds Pd/C in stability and activity.
