Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4039-00-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,0,3 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4039-00:
(6*4)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*0)=63
63 % 10 = 3
So 4039-00-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and characterization of impurities present in an antimalarial drug piperaquine phosphate

Bhovi, Manjunath G.,Tanwar, Pooja,Yadav, Gyan Chand

, p. 215 - 220 (2011/12/15)

Six impurities formed during the process development of piperaquine phosphate, were identified as 7-chloro-4-(piperazine-1-yl) quinoline A, 3-(4-(7-chloroquinolin-4-yl) piperazine-1-yl) propan-1-ol B, 7-chloro-4-(4-(3-ethoxypropyl) piperazine-1-yl) quinoline C, 1,4-bis (7-chloro-4-quinolinyl) piperazine D, 7-chloro-4-(4-{3- [(7-chloro quinolin-4-yl) oxy] propyl} piperazine-1-yl) quinoline E and 4,4'-[piperazine-1,4-diyl] bis (propane-3,1-diylpiperazine - 4,1-diyl)] bis (7-chloroquinoline) F by LC-MS. The structures of these impurities were further confirmed by synthesis. HPLC analysis of piperaquine phosphate API showed impurities ranging from 0.05 to 0.22%.
