Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 434-41-3 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,3 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 434-41:
(5*4)+(4*3)+(3*4)+(2*4)+(1*1)=53
53 % 10 = 3
So 434-41-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

PROCESSES FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF 2-CHLORO-1,1,1,3,3,4,4,4-HEPTAFLUORO-2-BUTENE AND HEXAFLUORO-2-BUTYNE

-

Page/Page column 5, (2009/07/03)

Disclosed is a process comprising reacting CF3CCl2CF2CF3 (CFC-318ma) with hydrogen in the presence of a dehalogenation catalyst to produce CF3CCl=CFCF3(CFC-1317mx). Also disclosed is a process comprising reacting CF3CCl═CFCF3 (CFC-1317mx) with hydrogen in the presence of a dehalogenation catalyst to produce CF3C≡CCF3 (hexafluoro-2-butyne). Hexafluoro-2-butyne can be used to produce CF3CH═CHCF2CF3 (1,1,1,4,4,5,5,5-octafluoro-2-pentene).

3-CHLORO- AND 3-BROMOHEPTAFLUORO-1-BUTENES. SYNTHESIS AND CATALYTIC REARRANGEMENTS

Filyakova, T. I.,Zapevalov, A. Ya.

, p. 1605 - 1609 (2007/10/02)

3-Chloroheptafluoro-1-butenes and 3-bromoheptafluoro-1-butenes were obtained by dehydrohalogenation of 1-hydro-2,3-dichloro- and 1-hydro-2,3-dibromo-heptafluorobutenes.It was shown that the rearrangement of 3-bromoheptafluoro-1-butene, catalyzed by antimony pentafluoride, is accompanied by migration of the bromine atom and leads to 1-bromoheptafluoro-2-butene.Under analogous conditions 3-chloroheptafluoro-1-butene isomerizes to 2-chloroheptafluoro-2-butene.
