Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4439-06-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,4,3 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4439-06:
(6*4)+(5*4)+(4*3)+(3*9)+(2*0)+(1*6)=89
89 % 10 = 9
So 4439-06-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Chemodosimeter for CN- - Interplay between experiment and theory

Kaur, Paramjit,Sareen, Divya,Singh, Kamaljit

supporting information; experimental part, p. 9607 - 9610 (2012/08/28)

The reaction-based cost effective detection of CN- over the most competitive ions, F- and Ac-, by a commercially available dye has been developed. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theory. An application in the form of 'dip-sticks' which provides an instant information, has been demonstrated.

Conformational Change Forced by Cesium Ion Complexation in Crystal Violet Derivative Possessing Tris(monoaza-15-crown-5) Structure

Uda, Ryoko M.,Oue, Masatoshi,Kimura, Keiichi

, p. 1236 - 1237 (2007/10/03)

A Crystal Violet derivative incorporating a tris(monoaza-15-crown-5) structure exhibits an anomalous absorbance change in the absorption spectrum of its acetonitrile solution, which was induced only by cesium ion but not by other alkali metal ions. A consideration about its complex conformation explains the cesium ion specificity and a molecular orbital calculation suggests the correlation between the conformation and absorbance.

APPLICATION OF ELECTROSTATIC THEORY TO THE KINETICS OF THE FORMATION OF LEUCONITRILES OF THE TRIARYLMETHANE SERIES IN THE WATER-DIOXANE SOLVENT SYSTEM

Sinev, V. V.,Nikolova, T. A.

, p. 666 - 671 (2007/10/02)

The kinetics of the reaction of conjugated ions of the triphenylmethane series and their antipyrine analogs, which differ in the type of charge, with the cyanide ion in the water-dioxane system (0-22.6 wt. percent dioxane) at 20-40 deg C were studied by a spectrophotometric method. It was established that the effect of the mixed solvent on the rate constants and the activation parameters of the reactions corresponds fully to the predictions of electrostatic theory, which takes account of the dependence of the radii of the activated complex on temperature.
