Bis(p-tolyl)dibromotellurium(IV) is a chemical compound with the formula (C6H5CH3)2TeBr2. It is a derivative of tellurium, a metalloid element, and features two p-tolyl (methylphenyl) groups and two bromide ions. This organotellurium compound is characterized by its stability and is often used in various chemical reactions and applications, such as in the synthesis of other tellurium-containing compounds. Its structure and properties make it a valuable intermediate in organometallic chemistry, particularly in the exploration of new materials and pharmaceuticals.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4533-03-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,5,3 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4533-03:
(6*4)+(5*5)+(4*3)+(3*3)+(2*0)+(1*3)=73
73 % 10 = 3
So 4533-03-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Syntheses and molecular structures of organo-tellurium(IV) halides trans-[(Ph2Te)(μ-Cl)2]n, cis-[(Ph2Te)(μ-Cl)2]n, [(p-MeC6H4)2TeBr2], and [{(p-MeC6H4)2TeBr}2(μ-O)]

Cui, Yu-Jie,Hu, Feng,Jia, Ai-Quan,Xin, Zhi-Feng,Zhang, Qian-Feng

, p. 2183 - 2193 (2018)

Treatment of Ph2Te with aqueous hydrogen chloride under air in refluxing THF gave trans-[(Ph2Te)(μ-Cl)2]n (1), whereas interaction of Ph2Te with ammonium chloride under similar condition afforded cis-[(Ph2Te)(μ-Cl)2]n (2). Reaction of (p-MeC6H4)2Te and bromine in refluxing THF resulted in formation of a discrete complex [(p-MeC6H4)2TeBr2] (3) with a step-like tetrameric structure, which further reacted with sodium hydroxide in refluxing THF to give a dinuclear tellurium oxide [{(p-Me-C6H4)2TeBr}2(μ-O)] (4) with a bridging oxygen atom. Complexes 1–4 have been spectroscopically characterized and their crystal structures have been established by X-ray crystallography.

SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF AROMATIC AND HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS OF TELLURIUM. XXII. A NEW METHOD FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF DIARYLTELLURIUM DICHLORIDES

Sadekov, I. D.,Maksimenko, A. A.,Rivkin, B. B.

, p. 541 - 546 (2007/10/02)

A new universal method was developed for the production of unsymmetrical and symmetrical diaryltellurium dichlorides and dibromides on the basis of the reaction of diaryl ditellurides with arenediazonium ions in the presence of copper(II) halides.
