N,N'-ethylenebismyristamide, also known as N,N'-(1,2-ethanediyl)bis(myristamide), is a synthetic organic compound with the chemical formula C30H58N2O2. It is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in organic solvents. N,N'-ethylenebismyristamide is a derivative of fatty acids, specifically myristic acid, which is a saturated fatty acid with 14 carbon atoms. N,N'-ethylenebismyristamide is formed by the reaction of two myristic acid molecules with ethylenediamine, resulting in the formation of an amide bond between the carboxylic acid group of one myristic acid and the amine group of ethylenediamine, and a similar bond with the other myristic acid molecule. N,N'-ethylenebismyristamide has been used in various applications, including as a component in the synthesis of surfactants, as a plasticizer, and in the formulation of certain types of lubricants. It is also of interest in the field of materials science for its potential use in the creation of self-assembling materials due to its amphiphilic nature.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5136-46-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,1,3 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5136-46:
(6*5)+(5*1)+(4*3)+(3*6)+(2*4)+(1*6)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 5136-46-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Rapid Synthesis and Interconversions of Fatty 4,5-Dihydroimidazoles and Fatty 1,4,5,6-Tetrahydropyrimidines. Thermal Cyclizations of Fatty Amides Involving Phenyl Phosphorodiamidate

Butler, Richard N.,Thornton, John D.,O'Regan, C.B.

, p. 2197 - 2200 (2007/10/02)

Brief heating of ethane-1,2- and propane-1,3-bis-fatty amides at 235-250 deg C with phenyl phosphorodiamidate gave routes to high yields of 2-fatty alkyl-4,5-dihydroimidazoles and 1,4,5,6-tetrahydropyrimidines.Ready interconversions of fatty dihydroimidazoles and tetrahydropyrimidines, involving diamine exchange with solvent, were observed on brief heating of these materials in ethylenediamine and trimethylenediamine as solvents.
