General Description

DIISOBUTYLALUMINUM BUTYLATED OXYTOLUENE, also known as DIBAL-H or Diisobutylaluminum hydride, is a chemical compound used as a reducing agent in organic synthesis. It is commonly utilized to convert esters, nitriles, and acid chlorides to aldehydes, to reduce ketones to secondary alcohols, and to reduce amides to amines. DIBAL-H is also used as a reagent in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. It is a strong and selective reducing agent that enables the controlled and efficient synthesis of various organic compounds. However, DIBAL-H is highly reactive and must be handled with extreme caution due to its flammability and air and moisture sensitivity.
