General Description

(-)-5-Hydroxy-3-[[2-hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl]amino]-5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methoxy-2-cyclohexen-1-one, also known as 5-Hydroxytropone, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C13H21NO5. It is a derivative of tropone and is structurally related to the neurotransmitter dopamine. (-)-5-Hydroxy-3-[[2-hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl]amino]-5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methoxy-2-cyclohexen-1-one has been studied for its potential neuroprotective and antioxidant properties, as well as its potential use in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.
