Desaminosulfamethazine, also known as DSM or sulfamethazine metabolite, is a chemical compound that results from the degradation of the veterinary drug sulfamethazine. This drug is commonly used for treating bacterial infections in livestock. Desaminosulfamethazine is a significant marker for the presence of sulfamethazine residues in food products, as it is a major metabolite that can persist even after the parent compound has been excreted or degraded. It is of concern because it can indicate the misuse of antibiotics in food-producing animals, which may contribute to antibiotic resistance. Monitoring levels of desaminosulfamethazine in food is crucial for ensuring food safety and public health, as it helps to enforce regulations on antibiotic use in agriculture.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 6149-31-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,1,4 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6149-31:
(6*6)+(5*1)+(4*4)+(3*9)+(2*3)+(1*1)=91
91 % 10 = 1
So 6149-31-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Direct Transformation of Arylamines to Aryl Halides via Sodium Nitrite and N-Halosuccinimide

Mukhopadhyay, Sushobhan,Batra, Sanjay

supporting information, p. 14622 - 14626 (2018/09/21)

A one-pot universal approach for transforming arylamines to aryl halides via reaction with sodium nitrite (NaNO2) and N-halosuccinimide (NXS) in DMF at room temperature under metal- and acid-free condition is described. This new protocol that is complementary to the Sandmeyer reaction, is suggested to involve the in situ generation of nitryl halide induce nitrosylation of aryl amine to form the diazo intermediate which is halogenated to furnish the aryl halide.
