628-91-1 Usage
General Description
DI-N-PROPYLZINC is a colorless and highly flammable chemical compound. It is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the preparation of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The compound is sensitive to air and moisture, and must be handled with extreme caution due to its flammability. DI-N-PROPYLZINC is a strong base and nucleophile, making it a valuable tool in organic chemistry for the formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Despite its usefulness, DI-N-PROPYLZINC should be handled with great care and under rigorous safety precautions due to its highly reactive nature.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 628-91-1 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 6,2 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 628-91:
(5*6)+(4*2)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*1)=81
81 % 10 = 1
So 628-91-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The synthesis of dipropyl- and diisopropylzinc in the reaction of propyl and isopropyl iodide with zinc and a zinc-iron mixture at the gas-solid boundary in a flow-type system was studied. It was shown that the reaction leads to synthesis of the dialkylzinc or dissociation of the dialkylzinc and alkyl iodide, depending on the process temperature.During the reaction of propyl iodide with zinc or the zinc-iron mixture the propyl radical undergoes isomerization within the complex and diisopropylzinc is formed.
