Synthesis of Aryl Methyl Sulfides from Arysulfonyl Chlorides with Dimethyl Carbonate as the Solvent and C1 Source
Miao, Ren-Guan,Qi, Xinxin,Wu, Xiao-Feng
supporting information, p. 5219 - 5221 (2021/10/19)
A new procedure for the synthesis of aryl methyl sulfides from dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and arylsulfonyl chlorides has been achieved. In this strategy, DMC plays a dual role as both, C1 building block and green solvent. Arylsulfonyl chlorides served as the sulfur precursors, and a variety of aryl methyl sulfides were obtained in moderate to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. Additionally, alkylsulfonyl chloride and dibenzyl carbonate are proven to be suitable substrates as well.

Page/Page column 41, (2015/07/16)
Provided are new biphenyl derivatives of formula (Ia). These compounds act as aromatase and sulfatase inhibitors. They are particularly useful for treating pathological conditions or diseases in which aromatase and sulfatase are involved. Moreover, provided are processes for the preparation of these compounds and pharmaceutical compositions containing said products and their use for the preparation of a medicament, in particular for the treatment of diseases characterized by aromatase and sulfatase activity such as hormone-dependent cancers.
Prostaglandin endoperoxide H synthase biosynthesis inhibitors

, (2008/06/13)
The present invention describes pyridazinone compounds of formula I which are cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitors, and in particular, are selective inhibitors of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). COX-2 is the inducible isoform associated with inflammation, as opposed to the constitutive isoform, cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) which is an important “housekeeping” enzyme in many tissues, including the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and the kidneys. The selectivity of these compounds for COX-2 minimizes the unwanted GI and renal side-effects seen with currently marketed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Electrophilic substitutions with the electrogenerated sulfenium cation R1-S+
Do, Quang Tho,Elothmani, Driss,Le Guillanton, Georges
, p. 4657 - 4658 (2007/10/03)
The sulfenium cation R1-S+ electrogenerated by oxidation of organic disulfides, reacts with phenols, aromatic ethers and ketones bearing an hydrogen atom in α position, to give alkyl (aryl) sulfanyl compounds.
