Usage

General Description

4,4'-(1,3-Dimethylbutylidene)diphenol, also known as BHT-Bu, is a synthetic antioxidant and food preservative that is commonly used in the manufacturing of various consumer products, including food and cosmetics. It is a derivative of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and is synthesized by reacting 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol with 1,3-dimethyl-1-butene. BHT-Bu is utilized to prevent the degradation of fats and oils in food products, as well as to extend the shelf-life of various personal care items. It is considered to be a safe and effective additive when used in accordance with regulatory guidelines, and has been approved for use in many countries around the world.
