The invention discloses a method for preparing black reversible thermochromic dyes. The black reversible thermochromic dye uses a compound (II) as a raw material. The structure of the compound is shown as the formula (II) which is described in the specification. In the formula (II), R1 is C1-C10 alkane; and R2 is C1-C10 alkane. The compound shown as the formula (II) reacts with various alkylationreagents to prepare corresponding dialkylated substances, and a hydrolysis reaction is conducted on the dialkylated substances to obtain target compounds (I).
