Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
Nitrofurazone is utilized as an antimicrobial agent for the treatment of skin infections and burns. Its broad-spectrum antibacterial activity makes it a valuable component in various pharmaceutical products, providing effective treatment against a variety of bacterial infections.
Used in Veterinary Medicine:
In the veterinary industry, [(5-nitrofuran-2-yl)methylidene]propanedinitrile is used as an antimicrobial agent to treat infections in animals. Its effectiveness against a broad range of bacteria makes it a useful tool for maintaining animal health and preventing the spread of infections.
Used in Research:
Nitrofurazone is also employed as a research tool in the fields of microbiology and medicine. Its ability to inhibit bacterial growth makes it a valuable asset for studying bacterial mechanisms and developing new treatments for bacterial infections.
However, it is important to note that the use of Nitrofurazone has been associated with potential toxicity and the development of bacterial resistance. This necessitates careful consideration and regulation of its application to ensure its continued effectiveness and safety.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 69527-46-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,9,5,2 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 69527-46:
(7*6)+(6*9)+(5*5)+(4*2)+(3*7)+(2*4)+(1*6)=164
164 % 10 = 4
So 69527-46-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The reaction of 5-nitrofurfuryl bromide or 5-nitrofurfuryl iodide with sodium azide and malonodinitrile afforded 5-aminofurfurylidenemalonodinitrile.The intermediate of the reaction is 5-nitrofurfuryl azide which decomposes to give 5-nitrofurfurylideneamine.Its reaction with malonodinitrile gives 5-nitrofurfurylidenemalonodinitrile which react further with sodium azide and malonodinitrile to give 5-aminofurfurylidenemalonodinitrile.
