Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 70550-48-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,0,5,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 70550-48:
(7*7)+(6*0)+(5*5)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*4)+(1*8)=110
110 % 10 = 0
So 70550-48-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Relative Reactivity of Conjugated Alkenes towards Diarylcarbenium Ions

Pock, Rudolf,Mayr, Herbert

, p. 2497 - 2509 (2007/10/02)

The relative reactivities of conjugated alkenes 3 towards diarylcarbenium ions 2 have been determined by competition experiments. For 2-substituted propenes H2C=C(CH3)R we found the following reactivity sequence with respect to R: cyclopropyl >> alkyl >/=

Scope and Limitations of Aliphatic Friedel-Crafts Alkylations. Lewis Acid Catalyzed Addition Reactions of Alkyl Chlorides to Carbon-Carbon Double Bonds

Mayr, Herbert,Striepe, Wilhelm

, p. 1159 - 1165 (2007/10/02)

Lewis acid catalyzed addition reactions of alkyl halides 1 with unsaturated hydrocarbons 2 have been studied. 1:1 addition products 3 are formed if the addends 1 dissociate faster than the corresponding products 3; otherwise, polymerization of 2 takes place. For reaction conditions under which 1 and 3 exist mainly undissociated, solvolysis constants of model compounds can be used to predict the outcome of any such addition reactions if systems with considerable steric hindrance are excluded.

RELATIVE REACTIVITIES OF ALKENES TOWARD THE DIPHENYLMETHYL CATION

Mayr, Herbert,Pock, Rudolf

, p. 2155 - 2158 (2007/10/02)

The relative reactivities of alkyl and phenyl substituted alkenes toward diphenylmethyl chloride/ZnCl2/Et2O in dichloromethane at -78 deg C have been determined by competition experiments. The transition state structure is discussed.
