Cyclocondensation of 5,7-dihydroxyflavone derivatives 1,2,8 with dimethyl acetal of hydroxyisovaleric aldehyde 3 and with dimethyl acetal of citral 4 in pyridine led to the formation of novel pyranoflavonoids.Isolated previously from Citrus plants citflavonone 9 showing anticancer activity was also obtained.The structures of the compounds were proved on the basis of their MS,IR and 1H NMR spectral data.
