Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 72984-63-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,2,9,8 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 72984-63:
(7*7)+(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*4)+(2*6)+(1*3)=165
165 % 10 = 5
So 72984-63-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Facile and regioselective preparation of partly O-benzylated d-glucopyranose acetates via acid-mediated simultaneous debenzylation-acetolysis

Cao, Yang,Okada, Yasunori,Yamada, Hidetoshi

, p. 2219 - 2223 (2007/10/03)

Fully O-benzylated methyl α-d-glucopyranoside shows a steady order in stepwise debenzylation when it is treated with sulfuric acid in acetic anhydride. Based on the order of debenzylation, regioselective preparations of 2,3,4-tri-, 2,3-, 2,4-, 3,4-di-, an

Effects of lipid chain lengths in α-galactosylceramides on cytokine release by natural killer T cells

Goff, Randal D.,Gao, Ying,Mattner, Jochen,Zhou, Dapeng,Yin, Ning,Cantu III, Carlos,Teyton, Luc,Bendelac, Albert,Savage, Paul B.

, p. 13602 - 13603 (2007/10/03)

Glycolipid presentation by CD1 proteins has emerged as an important aspect of antigen recognition, and presentation of α-glycosylceramides by CD1d to natural killer T cells has become a central focus in understanding how glycolipid presentation can influence immune responses. An α-galactosylceramide containing relatively long lipid chains has been the subject of intense study because, when presented by CD1d to natural killer T cells, it stimulates the release of both proinflammatory and immunomodulatory cytokines. Using an efficient synthesis of α-galactosylceramides, we have prepared a series of glycolipids in which the lipid chain lengths have been incrementally varied. The responses of natural killer T cells to these glycolipids have been determined, and we have found that truncation of the phytosphingosine lipid chain increases the relative amounts of immunomodulatory cytokines released. In similar fashion, the length of the acyl chain in α-galactosylceramides influences cytokine release profiles. Copyright

Chemical Synthesis of Disaccharides which are Partial Structures of the Glycosaminoglycan Heparan Sulfate

Davis, Nicola J.,Flitsch, Sabine L.

, p. 359 - 368 (2007/10/02)

A specific tetradecasaccharide sequence (oligo-H, 1) of the proteoglycan heparan sulfate has recently been identified as being responsible for binding and activation of the basic fibroplast growth factor (bFGF), a potent mitogen. We present here the first

STEREOCHEMICAL VARIATIONS IN AQUEOUS CYCLOADDITIONS USING GLYCO-ORGANIC SUBSTRATES AS A CONSEQUENCE OF CHEMICAL MANIPULATIONS ON THE SUGAR MOIETY

Lubineau, Andre,Queneau, Yves

, p. 6697 - 6712 (2007/10/02)

Chemical modifications of the sugar moiety in dienyl glycosides allowed us to rationalize the stereochemistry of our aqueous cycloadditions using glyco-organic substrates. In this way, several dienyl glucosides having benzyl group in 2 or 6 position of the
