, p. 2116 - 2120 (2007)
NaHSO4SiO2 was used as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for both the formation and the cleavage of benzylidene acetals. This catalyst is compatible with many functional or protective groups. Under different solvent systems, either the formation or the cleavage of benzylidene acetals was carried out smoothly in excellent yields and with good chemoselectivity. Sugar based low molecular weight gelators (LMWGs) are useful small molecules that can form reversible supramolecular gels with many applications. Selective functionalization of common monosaccharides has resulted in several classes of effective LMWGs. Rec
Synthesis of allophanate-derived branched glycoforms from alcohols and p-nitrophenyl carbamates.
Chong,Petillo
, p. 2113 - 2116 (2007/10/03)
[reaction: see text] The formation of saccharide-derived carbamates and alkyl 2, 4-dialkylallophanates from alcohols and p-nitrophenyl carbamates is described. Optimization of allophanate formation has led to the synthesis of branched glycoforms with inte
