The mechanism of the reaction of Sn(IV)-coordinated nitriles and carboxylic acids, which leads to the synthesis of N-acylamides, and the effect of the amides and anhydrides of carboxylic acids on this reaction were investigated. It was established that amides retard and carboxylic acid anhydrides significantly accelerate the process. Here the coordinated carboxylic acid anhydride fulfills the function of autocatalyst.
