2-Methoxy-4,5-dimethylphenol is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H12O2. It is a derivative of phenol, characterized by the presence of a methoxy group (-OCH3) at the 2nd carbon position and two methyl groups (-CH3) at the 4th and 5th carbon positions This. compound is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a distinct, slightly sweet odor. It is used in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and as an intermediate in the production of fragrances and flavorings. Due to its chemical structure, 2-methoxy-4,5-dimethylphenol exhibits antioxidant properties, which can be beneficial in stabilizing other compounds and preventing oxidation.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 7771-25-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,7,7 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7771-25:
(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*7)+(3*1)+(2*2)+(1*5)=117
117 % 10 = 7
So 7771-25-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Tobacco smoke chemistry. 2. Alkyl and alkenyl substituted guaiacols found in cigarette smoke condensate.

Arnarp,Bielawski,Dahlin,Dahlman,Enzell,Pettersson

, p. 44 - 50 (2007/10/02)

A series of alkyl and alkenyl substituted guaiacols, which comprise a group of biologically and organoleptically active compounds, have been synthesized. Mass spectra and GC retention times for these have been recorded and compared with those obtained for constituents of a weakly acidic fraction of smoke condensate derived from American blend type cigarettes. On the basis of these results, 25 guaiacols have been identified, 18 of which have not been detected in tobacco smoke condensate previously.

1,3-Halogen shift of 2-halogeno-4,5-dimethylphenols following oxidation with Fremy's salt

Jacobs, A. W. C. M.,Maat, L.

, p. 183 - 185 (2007/10/02)

Oxidation of 2-bromo-6-deuterio-4,5-dimethylphenol with Fremy's salt, followed by in situ reduction, yielded mainly 3-bromo-4,5-dimethylpyrocatechol, which affords evidence for a 1,3-bromine shift during the oxidation. The same treatment of 2-chloro-4,5-di
