7803-54-5 Usage
Uses
Used in Chemical Industry:
Magnesium diamide is used as a chemical intermediate for the production of other chemicals. Its unique chemical properties, such as being a whitish to gray crystalline solid with a density of 1.40 and decomposing when heated, make it suitable for various chemical reactions and processes.
Air & Water Reactions
May spontaneously ignite upon exposure to air. Soluble in water. Reacts violently with water to form caustic ammonia/ammonium hydroxide and heat.
Hazard
A pyrophoric material igniting in air at
room temperature. Evolves ammonia on vigorous
reaction with water.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7803-54-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,8,0 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7803-54:
(6*7)+(5*8)+(4*0)+(3*3)+(2*5)+(1*4)=105
105 % 10 = 5
So 7803-54-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Hydriding of Mg2Ni in ammonia
Fokin,Fokina,Tarasov
, p. 859 - 862 (2009/12/04)
The chemical interaction between the intermetallic compound Mg 2Ni and ammonia in the presence of NH4Cl as an activator is investigated at temperatures from 100 to 450 °C, and the reaction scheme is presented. The results demonstrate
