The invention discloses a preparation method of 4-amino-5-ethylsulfonyl-2-methoxybenzoic acid, and the preparation method comprises the following steps: taking 4-amino-5-ethylsulfonyl-2-methoxybenzoic acid as a raw material; the preparation method comprises five steps of methylation, thiocyanation, ethylation, oxidation and a hydrolysis reaction, and finally, 4-amino-5-ethylsulfonyl-2-methoxybenzoic acid is prepared.
