Reactions of Silver(II) Complexes with Ketoxime, Nitroso and Isonitroso Compounds: ESR Spectroscopy of the Radicals Formed
Jezierski, Adam
, p. 130 - 133 (1989)
Reactions of silver(II) complexes with ketoxime, nitroso and isonitroso compounds in organic solvents were investigated by ESR.The oxidation yielded iminoxy radicals RR'C=NO. and/or nitroxides R1R2NO..The silver(II) complexes with nitrogen ligands (mono-, bi- and tri-dentate) and AgO were used as oxidizing agents. The reaction products were analysed on the basis of the ESR spectra. The signs of the 14N hyperfine constants for the radicals were determined using the ESR spectra in an MBBA liquid nematic crystal as solvent.A linear correlation was found between the hyperfine 14N parameters and the Dimroth-Reichardt ET(30) coefficients for the iminoxy radicals.KEY WORDS ESR Iminoxy radicals Nitroxides Silver(II)complexes
Indirect Detection of Carbenes by Electron Spin Resonance: Triplet Trapping
Forrester, Alexander R.,Sadd, John S.
, p. 1273 - 1278 (2007/10/02)
Transient triplet carbenes have been converted into relatively long-lived iminoxyls by reaction with nitric oxide and hence been detected indirectly by e.s.r. spectroscopy. The process is formally analogous to spin trapping of monoradicals by nitrones and nitroso-compounds.Triplet nitrenes could not be trapped in this way.
