Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 86223-88-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,6,2,2 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 86223-88:
(7*8)+(6*6)+(5*2)+(4*2)+(3*3)+(2*8)+(1*8)=143
143 % 10 = 3
So 86223-88-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

New potentially bacteriostatic and fungistatic agents on the basis of 5-methoxypent-4-en-2-yn-1-one or -1-imine
Ried,Podkowik
, p. 454 - 460 (2007/10/02)
Carboxylic chlorides, imidoyl chlorides and chloroformamidines react smoothly with 1-methoxy-but-1-en-3-yne on catalysis with copper (I) iodide/bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium dichloride in triethylamine to yield the α-acetylene ketones and α-acetylenimines 1-23. No reaction occurs between 5-methoxypent-4-en-2-yn-1-one (1) and nucleophiles. Under the conditions of the bromine addition the divinyllactol 24 arises. With thiobenzamide, 1 gives 2,3a-diphenyl-3aH-pyrano[2,3-d]thiazole (25).
