Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 866116-06-5 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 8,6,6,1,1 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 866116-06:
(8*8)+(7*6)+(6*6)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*6)+(2*0)+(1*6)=175
175 % 10 = 5
So 866116-06-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

In situ hydrothermal synthesis of two novel Cd(II) coordination compounds

Yin, Guo-Jie,Ji, Bao-Ming,Du, Chen-Xia

, p. 21 - 24 (2012)

Hydrothermal in-situ reactions of 4,4′-bis(3,3′-dicyano) pyridine (pydcy) with Cd(NO3)2?6H2O under the similar reaction condition but different solvent media result in two new compounds [C48H32Cd2N8O 18](1) and [C17H13CdN3O 5](2). Compound 1 features a new dimeric carboxylate bridged structure, while compound 2 gives a 3D framework with large hexagon channels embodied with water molecules. Topology analysis of 2 defines a type of {8 3} etb topology. TGA and XRPD analysis indicated that the guest water molecules in 2 can be removed to result in a nanoporous network. Both compounds exhibit intense fluorescence at room temperature, which may originate from the ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) state.
