Products of addition to the multiple bond were obtained in the reaction of the methyl ester, nitrile, and amide of aziridine-2-carboxylic acid with esters or nitriles of acrylic acid and esters of maleic, acetylenemonocarboxylic, and acetylenedicarboxylic acids. The bromination of 1-(2-alkoxycarbonylethenyl)-2-methoxycarbonylaziridines under various conditions leads to the addition of bromine to the multiple bond with retention or opening of the aziridine ring.
