Abstract: Synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity of a novel tungsten(VI) amino triphenolate complex have been investigated. In particular, a tungsten(VI) amino triphenolate complex has been synthesized and tested in the oxidation of sulfides and cyclooctene, using hydrogen peroxide as terminal oxidant. The catalyst has proved to be air and water tolerant, also showing a good efficiency in terms of yields and selectivity. Moreover, an upgrade of our previous ligand synthesis is herein reported. The new developed procedure allows to obtain the triphenolamine in large scale without the use of chromatography for the intermediates purification. This invention relates to Group 4 catalyst compounds containing di-anionic tridentate nitrogen/oxygen based ligands. The catalyst compounds are useful, with or without activators, to polymerize olefins, particularly a-olefins, or other unsaturated monomers. Systems and processes to oligomerize and/or polymerize one or more unsaturated monomers using the catalyst compound, as well as the oligomers and/or polymers produced therefrom are also provided.
Expeditious synthesis of benzopyrans via lewis acid-catalyzed C-H functionalization: Remarkable enhancement of reactivity by an ortho substituent

supporting information; experimental part, p. 1732 - 1735 (2010/09/05)
An expeditious construction of a benzopyran skeleton via Lewis acid-catalyzed C-H functionalization was achieved. In this process, a [1,5] hydride shift and 6-endo cyclization successively occurred to give benzopyrans. The presence of substituents ortho to the alkoxy group significantly enhanced the reactivity, affording the desired compounds in excellent chemical yields with short reaction times.

An efficient synthesis of ortho-substituted triphenolamines via reductive amination is reported. This approach allows access to this increasingly important class of ligands in a structurally systematic way using either commercially or easily synthesizable
