Synthesis and biological activities of some flavones
Sawant,Gill,Nirwan
, p. 61 - 66 (2013/12/04)
Chalcones are synthesized by a base catalyzed Claisen Schmidt condensation reaction and then treated with dimethylsulphoxide in presence of iodine to get flavones. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against Escherichia coilt P. aeruginosa, S. epidermidis and B. subtilis. All the flavones showed moderate to good activity. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by IR, UV, 1H NMR, Mass and elemental analysis.

, p. 518 - 522 (2008/09/17)
Eleven flavonoid derivatives were synthesised using a modified Baker-Venkataraman rearrangement, and subsequent microwave-assisted closure of the heterocyclic ring. All of the synthetic compounds displayed antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger and
COMPOSITION FOR AMYLOID-ASSOCIATED DISEASE DIAGNOSIS
-
Page/Page column 5; 33-34; 44; 52, (2010/11/28)
A composition for diagnosing amyloid-related diseases, which comprises a flavone derivative, a chalcone derivative, a styrylchromone derivative, or a coumarin derivative, is provided. These compounds have high binding specificity to an amyloid β protein,
Radioiodinated flavones for in vivo imaging of β-amyloid plaques in the brain
Ono, Masahiro,Yoshida, Naoko,Ishibashi, Kenichi,Haratake, Mamoru,Arano, Yasushi,Mori, Hiroshi,Nakayama, Morio
, p. 7253 - 7260 (2007/10/03)
In vivo imaging of β-amyloid (Aβ) peptide aggregates in the brain may lead to early detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and monitoring of the progression and effectiveness of AD treatment. The purpose of this study was to develop novel amyloid imaging a
