The chemical compound in question is a complex iridium-based compound, specifically an iridium(III) complex with the formula (C2H4)3Ir(PC18H13)2BF4. (C2H4)3Ir(PC18H13)2(1+)*BF4(1-)=(C2H4)3Ir(PC18H13)2BF4 consists of an iridium atom at the center, which is coordinated to three ethylene (C2H4) ligands and two phosphine ligands, each with a phenyl group (C6H5) attached to a carbon atom in a cyclohexane ring (C12H21), resulting in the PC18H13 ligand. The complex carries a positive charge, which is balanced by the presence of a tetrafluoroborate anion (BF4-). The overall charge neutrality of the compound is maintained by the combination of the cationic complex and the anion. This type of compound is often studied for its potential applications in homogeneous catalysis and as a precursor to other organometallic compounds.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 96208-36-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,6,2,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 96208-36:
(7*9)+(6*6)+(5*2)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*3)+(1*6)=145
145 % 10 = 5
So 96208-36-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

OBSERVATIONS ON OLEFIN OXIDATION BY NEUTRAL AND CATIONIC PHOSPHINEIRIDIUM COMPLEXES

Brown, John M.,John, Robert A.,Lucy, Andrew R.

, p. 245 - 258 (2007/10/02)

The ethyleneiridium oxygen complex ClIr(PPh3)2(O2)(C2H4) previously prepared by Van der Ent, decomposes in solution forming some Ph3PO and CH3CHO, in the absence of excess ethylene. It promotes the oxidation of 1-octene and styrene by O2 and factors affecting the rate and efficiency of oxidation have been examined.Tetrastyrene di-μ-chlorodiiridium is only oxidised effectively by O2 in the presence of PPh3.The 1-octene complex ClIr(PPh3)2(C8H16) reacts very rapidly with oxygen at low temperatures but 2-octanone is not found in the decomposition products. The cationic complex (C2H4)Ir+(PPh3)2 promotes the oxidation of 1-octene and styrene but low yields of products are formed, including phenyloxirane and benzaldehyde.Complexes of 5-phenyldibenzophosphole were examined. They are not effective in promoting oxidation and display a strong tendency to form stable five-coordinate complexes and a greater propensity for cis-biphosphine coordination.
