Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 97222-04-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,7,2,2 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 97222-04:
(7*9)+(6*7)+(5*2)+(4*2)+(3*2)+(2*0)+(1*4)=133
133 % 10 = 3
So 97222-04-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Scalable, Electrochemical Oxidation of Unactivated C-H Bonds

Kawamata, Yu,Yan, Ming,Liu, Zhiqing,Bao, Deng-Hui,Chen, Jinshan,Starr, Jeremy T.,Baran, Phil S.

supporting information, p. 7448 - 7451 (2017/06/13)

A practical electrochemical oxidation of unactivated C-H bonds is presented. This reaction utilizes a simple redox mediator, quinuclidine, with inexpensive carbon and nickel electrodes to selectively functionalize "deep-seated" methylene and methine moieties. The process exhibits a broad scope and good functional group compatibility. The scalability, as illustrated by a 50 g scale oxidation of sclareolide, bodes well for immediate and widespread adoption.

Solvent- and Metal-free Oxidative Esterification of Aromatic Aldehydes Using Urea-2,2-dihydroperoxypropane as a New Solid Oxidant

Khosravi, Kaveh,Khalaji, Kobra,Naserifar, Shirin

, p. 303 - 309 (2017/03/27)

Urea-2,2-dihydroperoxypropane as a noble and solid gem-dihydroperoxide derivative was used to transform various aromatic aldehydes to their corresponding benzoate derivatives in the presence of HBr under mild conditions at room temperature in high yields and short reaction times.

Copper-catalyzed highly efficient ester formation from carboxylic acids/esters and formates

Liu, Jun,Shao, Changdong,Zhang, Yanghui,Shi, Guangfa,Pan, Shulei

supporting information, p. 2637 - 2640 (2014/05/06)

A highly efficient copper-catalyzed protocol for the synthesis of esters has been developed from formates. This protocol is applicable to reactions with either esters or acids as the substrates, and shows broad substrate scopes and high yields. This journal is the Partner Organisations 2014.

The first general and selective palladium(II)-catalyzed alkoxycarbonylation of arylboronates: Interplay among benzoquinone-ligated palladium(0) complex, organoboron, and alcohol solvent

Yamamoto, Yoshihiko

supporting information; experimental part, p. 478 - 492 (2010/07/03)

Methoxycarbonylation of aryl- and alken-ylboron compounds was performed using the palladium (II) acetate/triphenylphosphine [PdACHTUNGTRENNUNG(OAc) 2/PPh3] catalyst with p-benzoquinone as a stoichiometric oxidant in methanol at ambient temperature to obtain the corresponding methyl esters in good yields. A wide variety of functional groups including various carbonyl functionalities, nitrile, nitro, sulfone, and unprotected pyrrole rings were tolerated in the methoxycarbonlation, while the use of higher alcohols except for tert-butanol afforded various pchlorobenzoates in moderate to high yields. The catalytic alkoxycarbonylation proceeded without any acid or base additive, and an oxidative transmetalation step is proposed to explain the exceptional efficacy of this protocol. DFT and MP2 calculations support the proposed mechanism.

A fast and simple method for the acylation of alcohols with acid chlorides promoted by metallic samarium

Jia, Xue-Shun,Wang, Hai-Long,Huang, Qing,Kong, Ling-Long,Zhang, Wei-He

, p. 135 - 138 (2007/10/03)

Acylation of primary, secondary, allyl and benzyl alcohols with acid chlorides promoted by samarium metal under neutral condition gave carboxylic acid esters in good to excellent yields. Acylation of a tertiary alcohol did not occur under the same reaction conditions.

Zinc promoted mild and efficient method for the esterification of acid chlorides with alcohols

Yadav,Reddy, Gondi Sudershan,Srinivas, Dale,Himabindu, Konuru

, p. 2337 - 2342 (2007/10/03)

The esterification of variety of acid chlorides with alcohols in the presence of zinc is described. The easy formation of t-butyl and pivaloyl esters are the additional importance of this procedure.
