6,1',3'-Tri-O-benzoylsucrrose (1) has been synthesized by three routes.Monobenzoylation of 3,6'-di-O-acetyl-2,1':4,6-di-O-isopropylidenesucrose gave 3,6'-di-O-acetyl-3'-O-benzoyl-2,1'-4,6-di-O-isopropylidenesucrose.Removal of the acetal groups and dibenzo
PARTIAL BENZOYLATION OF SUCROSE
Clode, David M.,McHale, David,Sheridan, John B.,Birch, Gordon G.,Rathbone, Elner B.
, p. 141 - 146 (2007/10/02)
Tribenzoylation of sucrose followed by column chromatography gave a bitter fraction containing four tribenzoates, namely 6,1',3'-, 2,6,1'-, 2,6,6'-, and 6,3',6'-tri-O-benzoylsucrose.A slower moving and less bitter fraction cocsisted of the expected major product, 6,1',6'-tri-O-benzoylsucrose.
