Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 99513-17-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,9,5,1 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 99513-17:
(7*9)+(6*9)+(5*5)+(4*1)+(3*3)+(2*1)+(1*7)=164
164 % 10 = 4
So 99513-17-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 1310 - 1313 (2007/10/02)
The reaction of 1,2-dimethylbenzimidazole with N-bromosuccinimide was studied under conditions of free-radical substitution. The influence of the reactant ratio and the mode of introduction of the brominating agent on the course of the reaction was investigated. It was found that bromination of 1,2-dimethylbenzimidazole with excess N-bromosuccinimide in the presence of benzoyl peroxide gives polybromoalkyl and polybromoaryl derivatives.
