Thermographic study of the reaction of copper, zinc, nickel, and lead selenites with sodium carbonate
Thermographic study of the reaction of copper, zinc, nickel, and lead selenites with sodium carbonate. Muldagalieva, R. A.; Pashinkin, A. S.; Makhmetov, M. Zh.; Malyshev, V. P. (Khim.-Metall. Inst., Karaganda, USSR). Deposited Doc., VINITI 3722-75, 12 pp. Avail. VINITI (Russian) 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Report CA Section: 54 (Extractive Metallurgy) The reaction mechanism of CuSeO3 [16509-17-4], CuO×CuSeO3 [15599-88-9], ZnSeO3 [13597-46-1], NiSeO3 [10101-96-9], and PbSeO3 [7488-51-9] with Na2CO3 was investigated. Cu selenite reaction with Na2CO3 began at 130 and ended at 430°. The wt. loss in 20 min at 450° of ~10% indicated formation of Na2SeO3 [10102-18-8].
Activation of lipid peroxidation in the liver during hypokinesia and its prevention by antioxidants
Activation of lipid peroxidation in the liver during hypokinesia and its prevention by antioxidants. Panasyuk, E. N.; Skakun, L. N. (USSR). Kosm. Biol. Aviakosm. Med., 19(1), 48-52 (Russian) 1985. CODEN: KBAMAJ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Section cross-reference(s): 18 In rats subjected to 4-30 days of hypokinesia, peroxidn. of cell-membrane unsatd. fatty acids increased in the liver, as well as the no. of disulfide groups. This was most marked during the stress-response period (4-7 days), the rate of free-radical processes declining slightly thereafter. After termination of 7-day hypokinesia, lipid peroxidn. rates returned to normal. S.c. or i.m. administration of antioxidants such as syrepar [11095-03-7] (0.1 mL/0.1 kg), a-tocopherol acetate [58-95-7] (5 mg/0.1 kg), or sodium selenite [10102-18-8] (3 mg/0.1 kg) blocked the initiation of free-radical reactions.
